Copyright Policy

HowToTechy respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), we will respond promptly to claims of copyright infringement committed using our website that are reported to our Designated Copyright Agent.

Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been infringed upon on HowToTechy, please submit a written notification containing the following information as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
2. Identification of the infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on our Site (e.g., a URL or specific page reference).
3. Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
6. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

Fair Use Statement

Some content on HowToTechy, including screenshots of software interfaces and brief excerpts from product descriptions, may be used under the fair use doctrine for purposes of commentary, criticism, and review. We believe such use is transformative and does not substitute for the original work. If you believe our use exceeds fair use, please contact us using the procedure above.

Counter-Notice Procedure

If you believe that material you posted on HowToTechy was removed or access was disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our Designated Agent. Your counter-notification must include:

• Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and its location before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if outside the United States, for any judicial district in which HowToTechy may be found
• A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice
• Your physical or electronic signature

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, HowToTechy maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our discretion, limit access to the Site and/or terminate the accounts of users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

Response Time
